Back in October, we got the chance to meet up with Duncan, Susannah and Drake, Bear Hug Drake, at the Georgia Chapter of NAVHDA.  We worked Drake through the track, field and water work.  Breezy somewhat throughall of it.  Sweet Pea through some field work and Pearl through a duck search.

 

What really made us proud, was the drive and enthusiasm Drake had for each activity.  And he was especially remarkable on the track.  He tracked a pheasant across a dirt road and into a wooded area and after about 20 minutes, found the bird and retrieved it to Duncan.  It was an outstanding performance for a 6 month old puppy.

Pearl finished the requirements for her Conformation Championship by going Best of Opposite Sex at the Charleston Kennel Club Shows on 30 JAN 10.  Pearl had the distinction of receiving points every weekend she attended a conformation show.  It was just a matter of us not getting to many.  I don’t have her show picture yet, but I have this one.  We are now hopefully awaiting her first litter of puppies.  Just click on the button below to go to that page.

At the Charleston shows, Breezy also got her first points.  She went Best of Opposite Sex on Sunday 31 JAN 10.  She is still such a puppy, it is hard to imagine her in the conformation ring.

One of Sweet Pea’s sons, Bear Hug Dandy Low Country Boudreaux, out of her first litter also went Best of Winners one day.

This past weekend we participated in the Natural Ability test with the Carolinas Chapter of NAVHDA.  I tested Breezy, Terry Klavohn was there with Boudreaux, Bear Hug Dandy Lowcountry Boudreaux, Clarence Rothrock was there with Cocoa, Bear Hug Dark Chococlate, and Willy Garrou was there with Harley.  Harley is a son of Bear’s, Bear Hug Cee Barry Rockbridge. 

The scores for the day are as follows, Boudreaux 112 Prize 1, Cocoa 107 Prize 2, Harley 107 Prize 2 and Breezy 74 No Prize.  It was great watching those pups do so well and we were proud of them all.

This picture to the left summed up the whole day for me and Breezy.  Here she is inspecting her collection of dummies that I have so kindly thrown into the water for her, so that her friends can go get them.  And the other dogs did enjoy getting them.
